VEEDERSBURG – Glen Blankenbeckler, 66, retired truck driver for the state highway department, died Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient a short time. Born Aug. 1,
1907, in Kentucky, he was a son of Linzzie and Annie Johnson Blankenbeckler. He was married to Gertrude Lambert, who died last September. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Austin (Loretta) Gray of Newport, Ky., Mrs. Dane (Veaster) Wampler of Dyer, Mrs. Owen (Kathryn) Gray of Moorehead, Ky., Mrs. Charles (Janet) Potts and Mrs. Bernice Ratcliff of Veedersburg and Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Brock of Covington; six sons, Denzil of Hammond, Leroy of Veedersburg, Johnny of Williamsport, Ronnie of Tyler Tex., and Rodger and Kenneth, at home; two brothers, Earl of Kingman and William of Clarksville, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Binion of Logan, W.Va.; 23 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in
Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman with the Rev. George Souza officiating. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. -– jlr

Veedersburg, Ind.—Glen Blankenbeckler, 66, of Veedersburg Route 3, died at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday (July 31, 1974) at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He had been hospitalized earlier Wednesday.
Born in Elliott County, Ky. Aug. 1, 1907, he was the son of Linzzie and Annie Johnson Blankenbeckler. He was married to Gertrude Lambert, who died Sept. 20, 1973.
He was a truck driver and was retired from the state highway department.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Austin (Loretta) Gray of Newport, Ky., Mrs. Dane (Veaster) Wampler of Dyer, Ind., Mrs. Owen (Kathryn) Gray of Morehead, Ky., Mrs. Charles (Janet) Potts and Mrs. Bernice Ratcliff, both of Veedersburg and Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Brock of Covington; six sons, Denzil of Hammond, Leroy of Veedersburg, Johnny of Williamsport, Ronnie of Tyler, Tex., Rodger and Kenneth, both at home; two brothers, Earl of Kingman and William of Clarkshill, W.Va.; 23 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
He also was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters.
