Mrs. Dora Blankenbaker, manager of the Vee Theatre in Veedersburg died suddenly Monday evening after suffering a heart attack. Mrs. Blankenbaker died at the home of Mrs. Naomi Slusser where she maintained living quarters. She had made preparations to enter a hospital in Indianapolis the evening she died, having suffered with a heart ailment for some time and having had a recurrence in recent days. She had operated the Vee theater for her son, Al, who leased the business from William Wallace. Mrs. Blankenbaker had many friends in Veedersburg and was a member of the Christian Church. She was a registered nurse and followed her profession for many years at Indianapolis hospitals and at Mayo Clinic. She was preceded in death by her husband, AE Blankenbaker many years ago. Surviving is a son Al of Richmond, Indiana and a daughter, Mrs. Park Lewis of Indianapolis. The body was taken to Indianapolis on Tuesday morning for funeral services and burial Thursday. – kbz
