VEEDERSBURG — Theda (Perry) Blair, 85, formerly of Veedersburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 in the Waters of Covington. She was born March 8, 1921 in Morgan County, Ky., the daughter of John Henry and Vicy (Smith) Perry. She first married Otis Protzman of West Virginia and later married Jerry Blair of Covington. Both marriages ended in divorce. She graduated in Springfield, Ohio. She was a licensed beautician and owned and operated beauty shops in Covington and Veedersburg. She was a Vivian Woodard Cosmetics consultant for well over 30 years. She was a retired civil service employee. She worked at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Ill., Wright-Patterson Air Base in Dayton, Ohio, and in Danville, Ill. for the Social Security Administration, where she retired in 1979. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post 384 of Kingman Veteran's of Foreign War Auxiliary Post 2395 of Covington, Fountain Chapter 204 Order of Eastern Star of Attica; a past worthy matron of Troy Chapter 256 Order of Eastern Star of Covington, and a member of the Cabalistic Club. She enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include: two sisters, Catherine (Carl Wayne) Dismore, Veedersburg and Thelma Corn, Coos Bay, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Ivan, Elmo, Dewey, Charles and Robert. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. She requested memorials be made to the The American Cancer Society. – jlr
