KINGMAN — Joe Darrell Blacketer, 60, Kingman, died at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002 in Provena United Samaritan Hospital, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. at He was born Aug. 3, 1941 in Mecca, the son of Hubert and Reba Moore Blacketer. He married Kaye Sowers Dec. 16, 1958. She survives. He had worked the last 30 years at Devro-TeePak in Danville, Ill. He enjoyed taking his dog, Winston (Blue) for car rides, coaching softball, going to lunch with his buddies, racing go-carts, squirrel hunting, working in his garden and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Kingman Community Church. Survivors, besides the wife, include his children: Tony (Maria) Blacketer, Tracie (Daniel) Allen, Melinda Blacketer and Jeremy Blacketer, all of Kingman; four granddaughters, Desiree, Allyson, Danielle and Abbygail; a grandson, Chase; a sister, Linda (Larry) Glaspie, Clinton; and two brothers, James (Connie) Blacketer and Milburn (Judy) Blacketer, both of Montezuma. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday in Kingman Community Church with Dr. Glenn Ray, Sr. officiating. Burial was in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. – jlr
