David W. Blacketer, a retired coal miner died Sunday at 6:30p.m. at Britton Nursing Home, Rockville where he had been a patient for 1year and 7 months. He was 77. He was born in Parke Co 1-12-1879 son of James and Emmaline Shoaf Blacketer. He had lived near Bloomingdale. He is survived by two sons, Pearl of Kingman and David of St. Jose, Idaho; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Massey, Veedersburg and Mrs. Ethel Hoke of Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hubbard of Shepherdsille and Mrs. Artie Ellis of Detroit MI; and 17 grandchildren. Funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Branson Funeral Home, Rockville with burial in Sherpherdsville Cemetery.
