Attica – Mrs. Altha M. Malaska Blacketer, 93, formerly of Odell, died at 10:35 a.m Wednesday in Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica. She had been a patient there since July 1984 and in failing health one year.  Born in Jackson Township in Tippecanoe County Jan 11, 1896 she lived in Jackson Township most of her life. She attended Goose Nibble School there. Mrs. Blacketer was a homemaker and member of Jackson Heights Methodist Church.  Her marriage was July 11, 1911 in Jackson Township to Grover Blacketer. He died March 11, 1952. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Kochell of Attica; one son, Charles Blacketer of Delphi; two brothers, Ora Malaska of Lafayette and Paul Malaska of Peru, Ind. - kbz

Attica—Altha M. (Malaska) Blacketer, 93, formerly of the Odell community, and a resident of Woodland Manor Nursing Center, Attica, since July 1984, died there at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1989. She had been in failing health one year and seriously ill the past week.
  She was born Jan. 11, 1896, in Jackson Township, Tippecanoe County, the daughter of George and Laura Knee Malaska. She had been a lifelong resident of Jackson Township until moving to the nursing center. She was married July 11, 1911, in Jackson Township, to Grover Blacketer, who preceded her in death March 11, 1952.
  She attended Goose Nibble School in Jackson Township and was a member of Jackson Heights Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and liked sewing and quilting.
  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Kochell, Attica; one son, Charles, Delphi; two brothers, Ora Malaska, Lafayette, and Paul Malaska, Peru; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandsons. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
  Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today (Friday) at Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Maus Chapel with Don Glover officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Romney. – thanks to s
