ATTICA – Herman C. Black, 65, 1104 N. 3rd St., died at 11 p.m. Tuesday (22 March 1977) in Community Hospital at Williamsport. He had been in failing health several months. Born at Perrysville, (8 March 1912) he lived at Williamsport before moving to Attica 13 years ago. He attended Perrysville School and was a farmer and was employed as a grinder at Harrison Steel Casting Co. Mr. Black served with the Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of Perrysville United Methodist Church and VFW Post 3318 at Attica. He was married in 1937 at Perrysville to Violet Murdock, an employe of Community Hospital. Surviving with the widow are two sons, Harold W. Black, Rt. 2, Williamsport, and Larry Leroy Black of Santa Ana, Calif.; and four daughters, Mrs. Dean (Phyllis) Gephart of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. James (Ramona) Haley, Attica, Lucinda Black, Santa Ana, and Melonie Black, at home.
