George Birge, 88, Former Resident Of Hillsboro, Dies
HILLSBORO - George Birge, 88-year-old resident of this community for many years, died Friday in the Masonic Home at Franklin. He had resided there the past two years. Mr. Birge, a retired plumber, was a 50-year member of the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge. He also was a member of the Methodist Church here. Born in Kentucky, he came to Indiana as a young man. He was married in March of 1897 to Pearl Hesler. She died March 18, 1954. Mr. and Mrs. Birge spent all of their married life in this community. Surviving are two daughter, Mrs. Opal Trotter of Portland and Mrs. Bernice Beauchamp of Lafayette; a brother, Arthur of Crawfordsville; three grandsons and 11 great-grandchildren. The body was brought to the Crumley Funeral Home here. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and evening. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery here. Other funeral arrangements are incomplete.
