BIRD, Eva Thompkins - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Graveside rites for Mrs. Eva Thompkins Bird, age 89, a resident of Covington for several years and mother of Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Price of 825 Third St., were held at 4 p.m. Monday, June 1, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. The Rev. Donald Ashley, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Covington, officiated. The Hegg Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Bird died early Friday, May 29, in a hospital at Glenns Falls, N.Y. She was born Jan. 12, 1875, in New York City. She was married to the Rev. Addison C. Bird, who preceeded her in death in March 1958. She was a member of the Reformed Church of America. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Price of Covington and Mrs. W. A. Burner of Glenns Falls, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
