Wallace Bingham a well known citizen of Veedersburg died suddenly Thursday morning about 9 o’clock with heart failure. Mr. Bingham had been downtown to get his mail and was returning home when after climbing the hill on Harrison Street he reached the orchard beyond the James Helms house he suffered an attack of heart failure and lay down by the roadside where he was found dead by George H Watson. His faithful old dog that always accompanied Mr. Bingham was lying beside the body keeping watch. Mr. Bingham had not been well for some time past and it was thought three weeks ago that he had suffered a stroke of paralysis and could not recover but after a few days he rallied and was able to be about home and even get downtown. Wallace Bingham was a brother of James Bingham who was Attorney-General for the state of Indiana four years and also a brother of George F. Bingham also an attorney of Indianapolis. Besides the brothers he is survived by a widow. The coroner was called from Attica to hold an inquest. --- kbz
