Lester Billings, 55 of 503 N. Bowman, died at 11:05 Friday (June 19, 1970) at the Veterans Administration Hospital. He had been in failing health two years. The son of Fred M. and Laura Pearl Pease Billings, he was born March, 1915 in Danville. On Sept. 8, 1952 in Paris, Ill., he married Mabel Hupper, who survives. Mr. Billings was employed as a butcher at Park and Shop and then employed at Hyster Co. as a punch press operator. He was a veteran of World War II. Also surviving are a son, Lester Eugene, at home; two brothers, Floyd and William Billings of Danville; and two sisters, Mrs. Francis Connor and Mrs. Stella Rodgers, both of West Lebanon. He was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Barrick and Son Funeral Home with Freddie Griffith in charge. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the funeral home.
