BIGGS, Jesse Grant - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Jesse Grant Biggs, 87 of Attica a retired farmer died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette at 6:30 a.m. Sunday Feb 20, 1955 where he was entered as a patient Saturday afternoon after being taken there from the home of his grandson, Hallie Knowles of Attica.  Mr. Biggs was born Sept 25, 1867 at West Point, Ind son of Green and Olive Young Biggs.  He married Ora Jane Stetler and she preceded him in death.  He was a life resident of Warren and Fountain counties having served as trustee of Medina Township in Warren.  He was a member of the EUB Church in Greenhill and the Otterbein Masonic Lodge. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Olive Jaynes of Lafayette; Mrs. Hazel Fern Barrier of Monroe, Ill; Mrs. Jessie Winfrey of Burlington, Colo; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Merryman Funeral Home in Attica Tuesday with Rev. Bruce Porter officiating. Burial was in Armstrong cemetery near Greenhill. – kbz
