Mrs. Stella Bever, 74 who had been in failing health suffered a stroke at her home east of Hillsboro Tuesday morning. She was removed by ambulance to Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville about 1 p.m. Tuesday and died about an hour later. All of her married life had been spent in the vicinity of Hillsboro. Mrs. Bever was born Dec 21, 1880 at Alvin, Ill, the daughter of John and Sarah White Conner. She was married to Leo Bever of Hillsboro who preceded her in death in 1942. She was a member of the United Brethren Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Opal Stock of Washington, DC; Mrs. Sarah Hoffman, of Detroit, Mich; Mrs. Lavonia O’Neil of Danville, Ill and one son, Gilbert Bever at home; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She also leaves 3 brothers: Gilly Conner of Hillsboro; Floyd Conner of Crawfordsville and Harley Conner of Marion and one sister, Mrs. Ivy Livengood of Wallace. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Crumley Funeral Home with Rev. GT Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown masonic Cemetery. – kbz
