Levi Bever, 80, Dies At Hillsboro
HILLSBORO
Levi Bever, 80, was found dead Sunday morning in a garage at the home of son, Robert Levi. He had been shot in the left temple and a revolver lay near the body. Fountain County Coroner Charles Fishero said the wound was self inflicted. Mr. Bever had lived with his son since the death of his wife, Pearl, last December. Robert and his family were attending church at the time of the shooting. Born on a farm southwest of Hillsboro Aug. 26, 1877, he was the son of Levi and Elizabeth Harding Bever. He was married to Myra Porter, who died Aug. 18, 1923. In September, 1932, he was married to Pearl Davis, who died in December, 1957. He was a watchmaker, a graduate of Bradley University School of Watchmakers in Peoria, Ill. Surviving are two sons, James and Robert, both of Hillsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Bernice De Florio, who was adopted by Dr. and Mrs. E. G. Bounell, formerly of Hillsboro. Mr. De Florio now lives in Chicago, Ill. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Bounell and Mrs. Phoebe Clodfelter, both of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mrs. Ellen Neal of Crawfordsville, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Crumley Funeral Home with Rev. Homer Cole, pastor of Christian Church, officiating. Bruail will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Hillsboro. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday.
