Relatives in Hillsboro received word Thursday morning that John P. Bever, 79, of Ridgefarm, Ill died in a hospital near Kankakee, Ill Wed night after having been a patient for about a week. Complications were given as the cause of his death. He was born south of Hillsboro Feb 23, 1874, the son of Levi and Elizabeth Harding Bever. He was married to Miss Elzada Shell and they resided in this community for several years, moving to Newport and then to Ridgefarm. He had been engaged in the real estate business. Survivors are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Leasure of Sidell, Ill and Mrs. Helen Newman of Lansing, Mich; one brother, Levi Bever of Hillsboro and three sisters: Mrs. Mary Bounell and Mrs. Phoebe Clodfelter of Oklahoma City, Okla and Mrs. Ellen Neal of Crawfordsville. The funeral service was held on Sunday at Sidell Ill with burial in a cemetery in Newport. --– kbz
