H. Maxine Bensyl, 73, of Fithian, Ill., died at 12:02 a.m. Monday, April 15, 1996 at Americana Healthcare Center in Danville, Ill. Born December 18, 1922, in Danville, Ill., a daughter of Houser Swaim. She married Vance Walter "Jack" Bensyl in St. Louis, Mo. He preceded her in death June 27,1970. She is survived by: two sons, James Bensyl of Covington and Ron Bensyl of Fairmount, ill., one daughter, Barbara Oates of Fithian, Ill.; one brother, Stanley Swaim of grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister. She was a cook at The Fithian Cafe and had also a member of the Fithian United Methodist Church. Services were Wednesday, April 17, 1996 at Johnson-Lakeside Funeral Home in Oakwood, Ill. with the Rev. Russ Ehrhardt officiating. Burial was in Fithian-Muncie Stearns Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fithian United Methodist Church. – jlr
