Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Maus Funeral Home, Attica with Masonic memorial services at 7:30 p.m. Services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Stamm officiating. Burial with military services will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Surviving are six children: Nick Guerrero; Andrea Guerrero, Ashley LaFollette, Dustin LaFollette, Jacob Benson and Stephanie McGowen. Preceded in death by two brothers, Willim and David Warren Benson and four sisters: Dorothy Miller, Alice White, Alma Braden and Elsie Rainwater. Independence β Robert D. Benson, 73, 2200 N. Cicott Road, Attica (Independence) died at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday Dec 26, 2001 in the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Ill. He was born in Independence on Jan 5, 1928. He was raised in Independence and graduated from Pine Village High School. He lived all of his life in Warren County. He owned and operated the Pine Village Grain Co for many years. He married Pricilla Ann Krr on Dec 14, 1951 in Attica and she died Sept 9, 1972. Mr. Benson was a member of the Review United Methodist Church in Independence. He was a 50-year member and past master of the Green Hill Lodge 455 F&AM and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3318 of Attica. He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict. At the time of his discharge he had earned the rank of Petty Officer Second Class. Surviving are a son, Robert Thomas βTomβ Benson (wife: Bobbi) of Pine Village; two daughters, Rebecca Sue Guerrero (husband, Juan) of Attica and Cynthia Lynn LaFollette (husband Daniel) of Zionsville and a brother, John Benson (wife: Esther) of Lafayette, ---transcribed by kbz
