WAYNETOWN, Ind. (CNS) - Gilbert Bennett, 76, of Waynetown Route 1, died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday (March 14, 1973) at the Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. He had been a patient since Dec. 27 and had suffered a stroke at his home Oct. 15. Born Sept. 11, 1896, in Marion County, Ky., he was the son of Farris and Lear Hunt Bennett. He was married May 2, 1917, to Ruth Ratcliff of Campbellsville, Ky., who survives. Mr. Bennett moved to Indiana from Kentucky in 1918. He had farmed in the Waynetown area since 1928. He was a member of the Waynetown Baptist Church and was a former member of the Modern Woodman Lodge. He was educated in Ken tucky. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Bertha) Westfall of Speedway and Mrs. Paul (Ann) Myers of Waynetown Route 1; a son, Earl of Waynetown Route 1; a sister, Mrs. Lottie Morris of Campbellsville; a brother, Elmer of Indianapolis; a half-brother, Wesley of Campbellsville; two half-sisters, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Mattie Arvin; four half-brothers and a half-sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Saturday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stephen Malone officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.
