West Lebanon—Opal Mae Daniels Benedict, 81, Route 1, West Lebanon, died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, March 13, 1989 at United Samaritans Medical Center. Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. She had been a patient there five weeks.
She was born June 24, 1907 in Danville, the daughter of Napoleon and Ardella Daniels. She had resided in Warren County all of her life and was raised in the home of Clint and Minnie Hanson, near West Lebanon. She was married Oct. 21, 1926 in Crawfordsville to Elbert E. Benedict, who preceded her in death May 9, 1977. He was a farmer.
She was a graduate of West Lebanon High School in 1925 and was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier church in Attica and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She was also a former member of the West Lebanon Women’s Club.
Surviving are a son, Eugene C., West Lebanon; two grandchildren, Dale Gene Benedict and LeAnn Benedict, both of West Lebanon. She was also preceded in death by one sister.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Church in Attica, with the Rev. Duane M. Craycraft officiating. Burial was in West Lebanon Cemetery.
