Ethel E. Bell, 81, of 1401 W. Main St, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday in Culver Union Hospital. She had been ill for some time. A housewife, she had lived at Crawfordsville since 1968. She lived east of Waynetown 1963-68 and lived in Benton County prior to that. She was a member of Youngs Chapel Church for many years and had been a member of Woodland Heights Christian Church since 1961. She attended Hillsboro High School. Mrs. Bell was born Sept 3, 1902 in Fountain County, a daughter of Alva L. and Maude Blackford Fine. She married Jesse E. Bell June 5, 1921. He preceded her in death on Dec 13, 1962.
Survivors include two sons, Lester of Rt 4, Crawfordsville and LaMarr of Ft. Wayne; two brothers, Jesse Fine of Lafayette and Raymond Fine of New Ross; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Webb of Crawfordsville; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild and sisters, Mrs. Bess Scannell.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Jack Austin and Mark Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Msonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 pm. Thursday at the funeral home. - kz
