Edward Allen Bell, 83, 402 E.
Washington St., Attica, died Saturday, April 20, 9:39 a.m. in the Heritage
Healthcare Center, West Lafayette. His death was sudden and unexpected. Born in
Attica on May 1, 1912, he was the son of William Wesley and Fern Louise
(Cashion) Bell. He had formerly lived in Kokomo, but had been a resident of
Attica most of his life. He had attended West Point School. He was an
upholsterer and had owned and operated Allen's Trim Shop in Attica for 30
years, retiring from his profession in 1978. Mr. Bell was a member of the Moose
Lodge of Attica. He was married to Geneva Evelyn Bird on Oct. 3, 1942 in
Attica. She preceded him in death on June 23, 1993. Surviving, are: two sons,
James Edward Bell of Visalia, Calif. and Dwayne “Casey” Stewart of Attica; one
nephew, who was raised in the home, Frank Downs of Kokomo; also raised in the
home was Mrs. Richard (Mona) Waterstraat of Attica; three sisters, Mavis Carney
of Attica, Rose Anna McCarthy of South Bend and Telma Kamstra of Delphi; one
brother, Wayne Keith Bell of South Bend; five grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters
and one great-granddaughter. Visitation was Monday at Maus Funeral Home,
Attica. Service there on Tuesday with Pastor Harvey Lange officiating.
Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. –
