-- James Alfred Beeson was born March 8, 1850 near Greensboro NC died at his home in Yeddo, Indiana Jan 23, 1916 at the age of 65 years 10 months and 15 days. When but 8 years of age his parents moved to Tipton County, Indiana where he grew to manhood. He was married July 10, 1876 to Mary C. Shoaf and to this union was born five children; Maude Delia; Claude Duval; Lena May; Richard Leroy and Beulah Louvina. Maude Delia, the eldest child having preceeded her father in death, having passed to the great beyond June 3, 1885. Most of his life was spent on his farm in Parke County but in the last year he had moved to Yeddo, Indiana where he was engaged int he general merchandise business. He was a man respected by all who knew him for his modest unassuming manner and his cheerful disposition even during his last illness. It was the privelege of the writer to eat Christmas dinner with Mr. Beeson and his family and while he was at that time aware of the fact that his time was short, he tried to make everyone enjoy the occasion and signified his willingness to go wherever he was called. He leaves a wife, two sons, two daughters and 7 grandchildren, besides a host of friends to mourn his loss.
