CHALMERS — G. Helen Jenks Beedle, 72, 114 N. 2nd Street, died May 28, 1999 while visiting her daughter in Matteson, Ill. Born April 21, 1927 in Dana, whe was the daughter of Dewey and Louise F. McKinney Jenks. She married Bruce E. Beedle Oct. 14, 1942, in Covington. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1990. She was former owner of Bruce's Yester Years in Brookston. She was a member of the Chalmers Civic Club and Lafayette Eagles. She attended Chalmers Community Church. Survivors include: daughters, Frances Fraser, Elkhart, Nancy Bartlett, Lafayette, and Esther Purpura, Matteson, Ill.; son Bruce A. Beedle, Lousville, Ky.; sisters, Mildred Carron, Cayuga, Dolores Keener, Union City; numerous half brothers and sisters; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister. Funeral services took place at 1 p.m. June 3 at the Hartzler Funeral Home in Brookston with Pastor Bill Henderson officiating. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. June 2. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery in Brookston. Memorial contributions can be made to the Chalmers Community Church. – jlr
