Hall Beckman, 85, of Lafayette, died at 1:59 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2000 in St.
Elizabeth Medical Center, following an illness of several years. Born on
October 23, 1914 in St. Joseph, Illinois, she had resided in Crawfordsville and
South Bend before coming to Lafayette in 1962. She was a graduate of Wallace
High School and was co-owner of Hall’s Harley-Davidson Sales of Lafayette for
30 years. In 1940, she married Kelsey Hall. He preceded her in death in 1967.
In 1973, she married Leonard J. Beckman. He preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs.
Beckman was a member of First Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star #97,
Lafayette Elks Club and a life member of American Motorcycle Association.
Surviving, are: a stepson, Norbert (Jeanne) Beckman of San Diego, Calif., a
stepdaughter, Carol (Larry) Haynes of Lafayette; a brother, Ray Meese of
Crawfordsville; six stepgrandchildren, Kimberlee Lonergan, Kathleen Bruhn,
Cynthia Jean Hibbard, James Klinker, David Klinker and Mary Klinker; 19
stepgreat-grandchildren; 12 nieces and nine nephews. She was preceded in death
by four brothers, Wilber, James, Howard and Lawrence Meese; and a sister, Mae
Marnitz. Visitation was Friday prior to service at Hippensteel Funeral Home
with Rev. Greg Eberhard officiating. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery,
Crawfordsville. – jlr
