Mrs. Angie R. Beckett, age 83, a former Covington resident who has resided in Terre Haute for the past 10 years, died at 5:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Terre Haute. She had been ill since Oct. 16. Mrs. Beckett was born April 27, 1883, in Vermilion County, the daughter of William and Rose Divver White. She was married in 1905 to Millard Beckett, who died in 1939. She was a member of Troy Chapter 145, Order of Eastern Star, and the Covington High School in 1903. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Gruenholz of Terre Haute, with whom she made her home; one sister, Miss Myrtle White, who resides at the Masonic Home in Franklin; three grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son, Max, in 1939. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. P. J. Hamilton, pastor of the Covington Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
