BEARDSLEY, Ora

 Hedrick—Ora S. “Ode” Beardsley, 92, Route 3, Williamsport (Hedrick), died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1989 in Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville, Ill., where he had been a patient since Oct. 7.

  He was born Nov. 30, 1896 near Boonville, the son of James Riley and Nancy Permelia Cook Beardsley. He was married Sept. 6, 1926 in Canalou, Mo., to Lillian L. Lape, who survives.

  He was a retired farmer and a former employee of Wabash Valley Nursery in Lafayette. He was a World War I Army veteran.
  Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Derlan V., Wingate, and Bobby O., Otterbein; a niece, Goldie Vines, Bloomfield, Mo., who was reared by his parents; five grandchildren and five great granddaughters.

  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Friday) in Fisher Funeral Home, West Lebanon, with Pastor William Swanson officiating. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery. – thanks to s
