BEAN, Clara Gilkinson - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mother of Hillsboro residents, Mrs. Clara Bell Gilkinson Bean, 70, died at her home at Tangier Friday March 3. Funeral service was held at Fairview at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. HA Lashbrook in charge. Burial in Memory Garden, Rockville. Mrs. Bean was born in Parke County Oct 15, 1880 and was married to John W. Bean Sept 23, 1898. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1948 after retiring from their farm and moving to Tangier. She was a member of the Fairview EUB Church and Ladies Aid. Survivors are the husband and 8 children. Mrs. Hazel Summers of Steam Corner; Mrs. Gladys Watson of Hillsdale; Mrs. Grace Nickle, Mrs. Ruth Nicle and Mrs. Ruby Nickle all of Hillsboro; Harley Bean of Judson; Fred Bean of Indianapolis and John Vernon Bean of Tangier; two brothers, Lou Gilkinson of St. Francesville, Ill and Charles Gilkinson of Girard, Ill; 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  Hand marked March 1950
