Waynetown—Oakel Bayless, 79, Route 1, Waynetown, died at 7:07 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 1989, in Culver Union Hospital, Crawfordsville.
He was born Dec. 20, 1909, near Alamo. He had been a resident of Alamo all of his life. He was married Sept. 1, 1934, in Lafayette, to Lucille Cornell, who survives.
He graduated from Alamo High School in 1928. He was a deacon at Alamo Christian Church.
Surviving, besides his wife are two sons, Donald and Edwin, both of Route 1, Waynetown; two sisters, Vivian McDorman, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Howard (Elizabeth) Melvin, Crawfordsville; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Thomas Funeral Home, Waynetown. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Thomas Chapel with the Rev. James Daniel and the Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Burial will be in Alamo Cemetery. – thanks to S
