Ruth N. Baumgart, 79, of
Danville, Ill., formerly of Covington, Rt. 2, died at 12:10 p.m. Monday, Aug.
22, 1994 at USMC, Sager Campus. Born Sept. 10, 1914, at Rileysburg, she was a
daughter of David A. and Ethel M. (Fields) Rouse. She married Merle L. Baumgart
Aug. 28, 1941, in Missouri. He died in December of 1971. She is survived by: a
son, Jack (Sharla) Baumgart of Covington; three brothers, Glen, Owen and Ray
Rouse, all of Danville; two grandchildren, Chris Baumgart and Collette (Brian)
Ward; and a great-granddaughter, Cobie Ward. She was preceded in death by her
parents. She worked at General Electric, retiring in 1976. She was a member of
Benson Chapel in Covington. She was also a member of Dan Ge Retirees, Union
Corner 4-H Club, now known as the Sewing Club; and the Roselawn Garden Club.
She was past president of the DAV Auxiliary in Hollywood, Fla. She loved her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation was Tuesday at Lakeside
Funeral Chapel. Service on Wednesday at Lakeside with Rev. Grover Williams
officiating. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Benson
