Mildred Cathrine Bassett, 58, of 904 E. Pike St., died Wednesday afternoon in Culver Hospital, where she had been a patient two weeks. She was born July 28, 1911 in Hillsboro, a daughter of William E. and Nellie Gardner Brant. She was graduated from Hillsboro High School and married Thomas Ralph Bassett on Sept. 25, 1932 in Crawfordsville. Most of their married life was spent in this city. Mrs. Bassett was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and its Circle and also of Athens Chapter 97, OES. She was employed at Freedman's Store here. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Largent and Mrs. Sandra Kay Sowers of Crawfordsville; a brother, William Brant of Brook; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Booher and Mrs. Charles Warrick of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews. A brother and sister are deceased. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Leland L. Brett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
