BASS, Sylvia Smith - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Sylvia Bass, 57, died suddenly Tuesday evening at 6:55 at the Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville, where she had been taken shortly before her death, suffering with a cerebral hemorrhage. She was born at Georgetown, Illinois, Nov 16, 1892 but had been a resident of the Veedersburg community for many years. Surviving is the husband, Jesse Bass and nine children: Mrs. Gertrude LeMar, Decatur, Ill; Jesse Bass, Jr. Bloomington, Ill; Sherman, Allen and Chester all of Veedersburg and Mrs. Martha Thomas, Mrs. Marie Underwood and Mrs. Juanita Griffin all of Veedersburg and Cpl. Floyd L. Bass with the US Air Force; four brothers, Fritz Smith, Santa Fe; Everett Smith, Cayuga; Oscar Smith, Griffith; Carl Smith, Hammond and one sister, Mrs. Lucille Egebrecht of Harvey, Ill.  Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Parham Funeral Home in Veedersburg with the Rev. Todd of the EUB Church officiating. Burial was in the Bonebrake cemetery.
