Mary A. Basham, 92, 109 E. Third St, Veedersburg died at 2:02 p.m. Saturday Nov 28, 1992 at United Samaritans Medical Center, Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. She was born May 13, 1900 in Veedersburg, the daughter of Bert and Rosella Butts Simmerman. She was married in Rockville, ind to Estel Q. Basham. He preceded her in death in 1974. She owned and operated the Veedersburg Variety Store for 15 years. Surviving are a stepson, Vernelle F. Basham Bellflower, Ill; 3 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. today Tuesday Nov (sic - Dec) 1, 1992 at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg. Funeral services are to be at 2 p.m. today with Rev. Richard Lentz officiating. Burial in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg.
