New Richmond – Allen F. Barnes, 73, farmer died at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville early Sunday following a long illness. Born in Fountain County he married Maymie Byers in 1916. He spent most of his life in Montgomery and Tippecanoe counties. Surviving are the widow; a son, Francis; step-daughter, Mrs. Velma Pring of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Mitchell of West Lafayette; Mrs. Rose Mitchell of Franklin; five brothers, William of Franklin; Newton and Tilford Whiteland; Roscoe of Indianapolis and John of Jacksonville, Tenn. --transcribed by kbz
