BARNARD, Benjamin Alan - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Benjamin Alan Barnard, the eight-year-old son of William and Deborah Barnard of RR 4, Attica, drowned Friday afternoon, July 22, in Big Pine Creek, seven miles north of Williamsport.

  Around 6 p.m. the victim was sitting on the rock ledge of a waterfall dangling his feet in a five foot deep pool about 30 feet in diameter. Somehow the youth fell into the water and disappeared. Two uncles who were with him searched the creek area and could not locate him. But the 15-year-old Angela Sharp of Boswell noticed something in the water and called her uncle, Wendell Dalton of Greeley, Colorado. Dalton retrieved the body from the water.
