Samuel Barker Funeral Conducted at Marshall
Funeral services for Samuel Barker were held at the Federated Church Monday afternoon, Rev. EM Woodard assisted by Rev. Milo Hinckle, officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. Hubert Beeson. Pallbearers, who also carried the flowers, were Clarence and Lennie Pyle; Roy Lough; Hubert Beeson; Jimmy McCune and Robert Moon. Burial was at Poplar Grove. Mr. Barker died Saturday at the Wallace Nursing home in Rockville. He is survived by two sons, Vance of near Attica, Stephen of Indianapolis and one daughter.

Marshall, Samuel P. Barker, 82, died Saturday morning at 11:15 o'clock at the Wallace Nursing Home in Rockville. he had been in failing health for several months. Born Jan 1, 1870 in Indiana, he was the son of Thomas and Emily Morgan Barker. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Fred White of Crawfordsville, two sons, Vance of Demotte and Stephen of Indianapolis, 3 sisters, Mrs. Anna Strader of Attica; Mrs. Lora Strader of Veedersburg and Miss Chloe Barker of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the Federated Church in marshall. Rev. Edward Woodard will officiate and burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery near Marshall. Friends may call at the McMullen funeral home in Rockville until 11 o'clock Monday morning and at the church in Marshall from 2:30 until time for the services.

VEEDERSBURG LADY'S BROTHER PASSED ON
Samuel P. Barker, 82 years old, of Marshall, who was a brother of Mrs. Lora Strader of Veedersburg, died in the Wallace nursing home in Rockville on Saturday morning, (Feb 23 1952). He had been in failing health several months. Mr. Barker was the son of Thomas and Emily Morgan Barker, and was born on Jan 1 1870. A daughter, Mrs. Fred White of Crawfordsville; two sons Vance of DeMotte and Stephen of Indianapolis; and three sisters, Mrs. Lora Strader and Mrs. Anna Strader, the latter of Attica, and Miss Chloe Barker of Crawfordsville, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, survive. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Federated church in Marshall with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery near there.
