Mrs. Miranda Dewelen Barker, 69, a resident of Covington d. at 8 p.m. Sat May 16, 1959 at the Rudisill Nursing Home in Crawfordsville where she had been a patient 12 days following a 7-week illness. Born March 5, 1890 in Salem community she was the d/o James & Matilda Ziegler Dewelen. She was married Oct 13, 1917 to Clay I. Barker who survives. Mrs. Barker was a graduate of the Covington HS and had attended Indiana State Normal. Prior to her marriage, she taught in Ft. Co schools for several years. She was a member of the Kingman Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gwynn C. McCord; a brother, Noah; two sisters, Miss Clara Dewlen of Covington and Mrs. Florence Switzer; and two granddaughters. Services were held at 2:00 p.m Tuesday at the Hegg Fun Home. Burial in Mt.
