BARKER, John - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

John Barker, 58, died at his home, four miles northwest of Wallace, Mon. afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Mr. Barker had been in falling health for the past year and he suffered a stroke of paralysis last Thurs. which caused his death. Mr. Barker was born in Parke county on Oct 4, 1869, the son of James and Rebecca Barker. On March 1, 1900 he was married to Nellie Osborn. Mr. Barker spent his entire life in Parke and Fountain counties. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Charles Bever of Wallace, two grandchildren and one brother, Jesse Barker of Grange corner. The funeral will be held from the Freedom Church, three miles north west of Wallace, Wed. afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. The Rev. CL Airhart of Crawfordsville will be in charge and burial will be made at the Myers Lutheran Cemetery, near Wallace.
