BARKER, Hiram C. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Hiram C. Barker, aged 68 years, a life-long resident of the Romney neighborhood and a highly respected citizen of that community, died suddenly at 1 o'clock Monday morning at the family home two miles west of Romney. A heart attacck brought on his sudden demise. Mr. Barker was born near Romney on Nov 9, 1852 and had lived thereabouts during his whole life. During his life he beame a successful farmer and became known over a wide territory. In addition to the widow, 7 children survive. Three children preceded him in death. The funeral will be held from the residence Tuesday afternoon with burial in the Romney cemetery.
