Fred Calvin Barker, Terre Haute cafe operator died of a heart attack at 11:30 p.m. Sun at his home in Terre Haute. A native of Cates, Mr. Barker had lived in Terre Haute for the past 4 1/2 years. Born Jan 23, 1913, the deceased was the son of John W. & Cora C. Hackler Barker. He married Beatrice Horton July 21, 1932. Mr. Barker attended the Cates & Kingman High Schools. Surviving are the widow: two sons, Robert of California & Calvin at home, a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Woolwine at home and three brothers, Arnold & Russell of Kendalville and Ralph of Cates and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m Wednesday at the Cates EUB church in charge of Rev. Riffle Howard. Bur. will be in the Harveysburg Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour preceding the services.

Fred Calvin Barker, 41, of Terre Haute, native and former resident of Cates died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday in Terre Haute, following a heart attack. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cates EUB Church with Rev. Riffle Howard officiating. Mr. Barker was born Jan 23, 1913 in Cates, Ind son of John W. and Cora C. Hackler Barker. He was married July 21, 1932 to Beatrice Horton who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert of California; Calvin at home; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Woolwine at home; two grandchildren and three brothers, Arnold and Russell of Kentlandville and Ralph of Cates. Mr. Barker had resided in Terre Haute 4 ½ years. – kbz
