Kendallville – Florence Barker, 83 of Shepherd of the Hill Nursing Home died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday in the nursing home of natural causes. Mrs. Barker retired as the owner of Barker Firestone Store. She was born April 13, 1908 in Fountain County and moved to the area in 1946.  She married Arnold Barker. He died in 1957. She is survived by a grandson; a great grandson and a sister, Barba Shoaff of Vancouver, Wash. A son, Richard L. Barker died in 1960.  Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home. Burial in Lake View Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until services Thursday at the funeral home.
