MELLOTT, Ind. (CNS) — Taylor J. Bantz, 51, died on his birthday at 9:30 a.m. Thursday (March 28, 1974) at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville. He had been a patient Since Feb. 25. Born March 28, 1923, near Mellott, he was the son of Taylor and Bertha Short Bantz. Mr. Bantz was a graduate of Mellott High, a member of the Antioch Church of Christ and was a truck driver. He had served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of the Newtown Quiggle-Palin American Legion Post 394. Survivors include an uncle, Clarence Short of Attica; and two nieces, Miss Ella Beth Bantz and Mrs. Vernon (Sue) Keller, both of North Charleston, S. C. Mr. Bantz's brother, Harold, died Feb. 15, 1974. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Clyde K. Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro. Friends will be received after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be by the Quiggle-Palin American Legion Post.
