Veedersburg -- Mrs. Mina Banta, 59, wife of Dewey Banta, died Monday at 9:40 a.m. in St. Elizabeth's Hospital at Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient nine weeks. Born Feb. 21, 1901, near Hillsboro, Mrs. Banta was the daughter of Walter Hesler and Elizabeth Ingersoll Hesler. She married Mr. Banta May 17, 1924. Mrs. Banta was a member of the First Christian Church at Veedersburg. Survivors include the husband; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Welch of Carbondale, Ill., and Miss Velma Hesler of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Alga Hesler of Bradenton, Fla., and the mother, also of Albuquerque, N.M. Mrs. Gretchen Minnick, presiding at the organ, played the following favorites of the deceased: "The Lord Is My Shepherd," "No Night There," “Beautiful Garden of Prayer," and "My Faith Looks Up to Thee." Serving as pallbearers, and flower bearers were Earl Myers, Arthur Boggs, Hugh Carter, Fred Reid, Kenneth Cade and Kenneth Keeling. Interment was at Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
