Clarence G. Banta, 60, father of Mrs. Geneva Krug of Hillsboro died suddenly at his residence southwest of New Richmond, early Sunday morning. The funeral service was held from the Center Christian Church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Watson in charge and burial New Richmond Cemetery. The New Richmond Masonic Lodge conducted the service at the cemetery. He had been a school bus driver in Coal Creek Township for the past 23 years. A member of the Center Christian Church, the New Richmond Masonic order and Eastern Star and Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite. Surviving besides the widow, the former Pearl Kite are a son Clarence W. of New Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Krug, Hillsboro; two sister and four brothers --transcribed by kbz

New Richmond – Clarence G. Banta, 60, died at his home southwest of here early Sunday morning of a heart attack. He had been a school bus driver in Coal Creek Township for 23 years. Born in Canaan, he married Pearl Kite in 1914. He was a member of Center Christian Church, was paster master of New Richmond F&AM No 604; past patron on New Richmond Chapter 377 Order of Eastern Star and was a member of Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite. Surviving besides the widow are a son, Clarence W. of New Richmond; a daughter, Mrs. Geneva Krug of Hillsboro; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Black of New Richmond and Mrs. Minnie Burton of Anderson; four brothers, Thomas of New Richmond, Edard of Madison, John and Ben of Canaan. --transcribed by kbz
