Joseph S. Bannon, 80 of Williamsport died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday Sept 1, 1996 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been in failing health for several months and seriously ill 3 months. He was born near Potomac, Illinois Feb 3, 1916 the son of Joseph E. and Stella Mae Starkey Bannon. He lived in Warren County most of his life and in West Lebanon community 50 years before moving to Williamsport in 1983. He first married Nov 4, 1942 in Hamilton, Missouri to Luella Lewis. She preceded him in death June 13, 1982. He later married Katheryn (Lucas) Hetrick in Williamsport. Nov 19, 1983, a beautician and homemaker who survies. Mr. bannon was a farmer for 64 years raising both crops and livestock. He was a member of F&AM #352 in West Lebanon. He was a 4-H leader for several years. He served on the Warren County Fair Board, ASC Committee and was a honorary life member of the Hoosier Motor Club. He was a member of the Pantano Christian Church in Tucson, AZ and attended the Williamsport Christian Church. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas L (Juanita) Bannon and Joseph Lewis Bannon; one daughter, Mrs. Gene (Janet) Wolf; three stepsons, Maurice David Hetrick; Thomas A. Hetrick and Chester D. Hetrick; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Carl (Julia) Ottenweller; one brother Arlie Bannon of Hedrick; four sisters, Elizabeth Briles of Williamsport; Pauline Rice of Lafayette; Emogene Hetrick of Veedersburg and Josephine Warrick of Crawfordsville; one half sister, Mary Hoppes of WIlliamsport; four grandchildren and7 step grandchildren. He wa spreceded in death by one grandchild, four sisters, two half sisters and 5 half brothers. Friends were received ... (rest gone)
