Attica, Ind. (CNS) - Mrs. Lela Irene Balser, 74, of 305 Summit, died at 5:30 a.m. today (June 11, 1968) at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She had been a patient there since Saturday night and had been ill two years. Born Oct. 4, 1893, in Logan Township near Riverside, she was the daughter of Lorenzo and Iona Pearson Clark. She was married in Attica June 22, 1918, to William Roy Balser, who died in 1943. Mrs. Balser was a member of the EUB Church and attended Riverside Schools. She had operated restaurants in West Point, Attica and Newtown, Ind., and Danville, Ill. She also had been a desk clerk at the Attica Hotel for about six years. Survivors include a son, Roy G. of Lafayette Route 8; five sisters, Mrs. Flossie McAlister of Mellott, Mrs. Josie Allenduff of Riverside, Mrs. Rose Clark, Mrs. Alice Clark and Mrs. Rae Nelson, all of Attica; and two grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by three brothers. The body is at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica. Arrangements are incomplete.
