Otis Freeman BALLAH, 66, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday at his home in Veedersburg following a 20 years illness. He had been seriously ill for the past two months. Born Oct 3, 1892, in Warren County, he was married June 14, 1920 to Ela Cooper Davis, who survives. He had been a resident of Veedersburg for 25 years and been employed at Harrison Steel Casting Co. in Attica. He was a vet of WWI. Mr. Ballah had been a member of the Benson Chapel Methodist Church near Covington. Other survivors include two sons, Charles of Brookly, NY and Robert of Veedersburg; 4 daus, Mrs. Eileen Cartwright, Mrs. Marie Hollis and Mrs. Delores Mitchell all of Veedersburg and Mrs. Gwendolyn Frees of Crawfordsville; a half brother, Marion Wallas of Crawfordsville. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 in Veedersburg Methodist Church with Rev. Hubert Neth officiating. Military rites were given by the Veedersburg American Leg Post. Burial in Bonebrake.
