Crawfordsville—Harry Edwin Ball, 85, Williamsburg Health Care, Crawfordsville, died at 4:10 p.m. Friday, June 9, 1989.
He was born Dec. 18, 1903, at Brownstown, the son of Edwin and Anna Woolery Ball. He was married Aug. 16, 1930 at Acton, Ind. to Elsie Burgess, who preceded him in death Nov. 19, 1988.
He graduated from Brownstown High School and attended Purdue University.
He was a general contractor at Indianapolis, building churches, schools and industrial plants.
He was a life member of the Christian Church and served as elder and trustee of Third Christian at Indianapolis. After retirement, he shared memberships in the Crawfordsville First Christian Church and Tropical Sands Christian Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
He was also a member of the Crawfordsville Kiwanis, Millersville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Murat Temple.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leon (Geraldine “Gerry”) Turner, Route 1, Waynetown; three brothers, Dr. Joseph and Dr. Cecil, both of Indianapolis, and Robert, Singer Island, Fla.; a sister, Gertrude Beall, Indianapolis, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service was at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church. Burial was at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Crown Hill Mausoleum in Indianapolis. – s
