Anneita L. Baker, 79,
of Covington, died at 11:06 a.m., Saturday, February 17, 2001 in Country Care
Nursing Center, Williamsport. Born January 29, 1922 in Mound Township, Warren
County, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Opal (Cunningham) Gose. She
married William Curtis Baker on June 7, 1940. He preceded her in death on
August 8, 1969. Surviving, are: three sons, Jacob Baker, Jonathan (Charlotte)
Baker, and William Curtis Baker II, all of Perrysville; three daughters, Mary
Ellen (Robert) Stoutenour of Danville, Ind.; Susan (John) Morphy of
Perrysville, and Kathryn (Henry) Schmitt of Covington; a sister, Joan (Morris)
Rogers of Veedersburg; 25 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne
Baker; four brothers and a sister. Mrs. Baker attended Covington schools and
was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a former member of St.
Joseph Church, Danville, Ill. She had been a resident of Covington for 10
years, moving there from Perrysville. Mrs. Baker had been a nursing assistant
several years at VA Medical Center, Danville, and in area nursing homes. She
enjoyed her family and grandchildren. Visitation was Monday at Shelby Funeral
Home, Covington, with Rosary. Service on Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church
with Rev. Charles Kline officiating. Interment in Lower Mound Cemetery.
