VEEDERSBURG - Wheeler M. Baity, Rt. 4, Veedersburg, died Sunday, March 30, at Robert Long Hospital, Indianapolis, where he had been a patient for two weeks. The son of Albert and Celesta Brown Baity, Mr. Baity was born in Grantsberg, Ind., on Oct. 4, 1897. He was married to Florence E. Winton in Tipton County, Ind., on June 8, 1921, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Laing and Mrs. Lois Hannemann, both of Northlake, Ill.; one son, Melvin Baity, Skokie, Ill., two brothers, Arley Baity, Veedersburg and Wilbur Baity, Laporte; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Baity had resided in Stone Bluff the past six years, having moved there from Skokie. Before his retirement he was a mechanic. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps of World War I. Funeral services will be held today, April 2, 10 a.m. at the Stone Bluff United Methodist Church with Rev. Earl Carmichael officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst, Ill., with Parham Funeral Home in charge.
