Rockville—William F. Baird, 72, Route 2, Rockville, died at 9:06 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 1989, in Vermillion County Hospital, Clinton
He was born Nov. 19, 1916 at Scotland, Ill., the son of Lester and Frona McQuillan Baird. He was married Jan. 29, 1943 at Sterling to Martha Ewbank, who survives.
He was a graduate of Covington High School. He was a retired farmer and a charter member of the Little Raccoon Conservancy District board of directors.
He was a member of Waveland Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite of Terre Haute.
Surviving besides his wife are four sons, James, Greencastle, and John, Daniel and Michael, all of Rockville; three sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Margaret) Lytle, Waynetown; Mrs. Derold (Mary) Lytle, Veedersburg, and Cecil (Annabelle) Stonecipher, Crawfordsville; six grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, Waveland, with the Rev. Wendall Adams officiating. Burial was in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Marshall.
Masonic services were at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. -s
